Premium powdered feed (complementary feed) for ornamental mussels and other filter-feeding aquarium inhabitants
Keeping ornamental mussles without specialized feed in an aquarium has proven to be extremely difficult. Mussels are food specialists and depend on floating feed particles, which are usually taken out by the filter. This usually results in severe undernourishment. Therefore, aquarium mussels require targeted feeding.
Even though snails of the genus Brotia (e.g. Brotia pagodula, the Pagoda snail) possess a rasping tongue, the so-called radula, they are filter feeders in addition, and this concept applies to many more aquatic snails.
Therefore, these snails require a slow-sinking special powdered feed rich in nutrients, which remains in the water column for a long time and consists of high-quality ingredients of vegetal and animal origin.
Minerals and calcium provide nutrients for stable, healthy shells. In addition, we recommend feeding the snails with sinking feed like our Naturefood PREMIUM Grünfutter-Mix and our PREMIUM Wafers.
Naturefood PREMIUM für Filtrierer allows you to nourish your filter-feeders in a natural way without putting too much strain on the water quality by fast-sinking feed.
When feeding, allow the filter current to distribute the feed evenly in your aquarium water, then unplug your aquarium filter for about 20 minutes so the mussels and snails can take in the food particles.
Please do not forget to re-start your filter after that 😏.
Naturefood PREMIUM für Filtrierer is also highly suitable for feeding dwarf shrimp and their offspring.
